C12 Twin Cities (“C12 Twin Cities,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is an independently owned and operated C12 franchise of The C12 Group, LLC (“C12”). This Privacy Policy applies to this website (the “Site”) and to the local forum and inquiry services we offer through it (collectively, the “Services”).

This Privacy Policy describes the types of information we collect, or that you may provide, when you access or use the Site, and our practices for collecting, using, disclosing, and maintaining that information. It is intended to be consistent with, and does not replace, the C12 Group, LLC Privacy Policy. If you become a C12 member, apply for membership, register for a national C12 event, or use the C12 App at C12App.com, the national C12 Privacy Policy governs the information collected through those services. Where this Privacy Policy and the national C12 Privacy Policy conflict as to information held by The C12 Group, LLC, the national policy controls.

This Privacy Policy is incorporated into our Terms of Service and does not alter the terms of any other agreement you may have with us or with The C12 Group, LLC. Your use of the Services constitutes your acceptance of this Privacy Policy. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH OUR POLICIES AND PRACTICES, DO NOT ACCESS OR USE THE SERVICES.

1. Personal Information We Collect From You

“Personal information” is data that can be used to uniquely identify or contact a single person. This Site is primarily an informational site for prospective and current members of our local forums, and the only personal information you provide directly is what you choose to submit.

Inquiry and contact forms. When you use a form on this Site to ask a question, request information, or schedule a call, we collect the information you submit: your name, email address, company name, phone number, and the content of your message, along with any other personal information you choose to include.

Direct contact. If you email or call one of our Chairs using the contact details published on this Site, we will have the information contained in that correspondence.

Forum visits, applications, and membership. If you go on to visit a forum, apply for membership, or become a member, additional information is collected as described in the national C12 Privacy Policy — which may include your physical address, birthday, marital status, local church, business title, and details about your business. That information is collected outside this Site.

2. Information We Receive from Third Parties

We may receive information about you (including personal information) from third parties. For example, if you are referred to us by The C12 Group, LLC, by another C12 Chair, or by an existing member, we may receive your name and contact details so that we may follow up with you. When you interact with us through social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, or YouTube, we may receive information including your email address, location, and other biographical information, depending on your privacy settings. You should review and, if you prefer, adjust your privacy settings on third-party platforms before linking or connecting them to the Services.

3. Automatic Data Collection; Technologies Used to Automatically Collect Information

Whenever you visit or interact with the Site, we and our service providers may use technologies that automatically or passively collect information about how the Site is accessed and used. We refer to this information as “traffic data.” Traffic data may include browser type, device type, operating system, IP address, referring page, the path you take through the Site, and other usage information. This information helps us manage, improve, and customize the Site.

The technologies we use for this purpose include cookies (small data files placed on the device you use to access the Site) and analytics software. Specifically:

Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”), which uses cookies to help us analyze how visitors use the Site. Information generated about your use of the Site (including your IP address) is transmitted to and stored by Google. 4. How We Use Information We Collect

We collect and use your personal information for a limited set of business purposes in order to provide the Services to you. We do not use, disclose, or share your personal information outside of those business purposes or as set forth in this Privacy Policy. In particular, your personal information may be used by us and our service providers for the following purposes:

To communicate with you about our local forums, meetings, and events
To evaluate whether C12 membership may be a fit for you and your business
To manage and protect the Site

To comply with any legal or regulatory obligations, including in connection with a subpoena, warrant, or other court order

5. How We Share with Others

We will not sell your personal or company information. We do not disclose your personal information for third-party marketing purposes.

With The C12 Group, LLC. As a C12 franchise, we may share your inquiry, application, and membership information with The C12 Group, LLC, which will handle it under the national C12 Privacy Policy. We may also refer you to another C12 Chair or forum — including one outside the Twin Cities — if that would serve you better.
With our service providers. We use service providers who perform services on our behalf, including our website developer and host, our form-intake and email providers, and our analytics providers. They receive only the information needed to perform those services and are subject to obligations consistent with this Privacy Policy.
To protect the Services and comply with law. We may disclose personal information to protect the security and integrity of the Services, to correct technical problems, to take precautions against liability, or where required by law, treaty, regulation, subpoena, court order, or a government entity. We may also disclose personal information where we have reason to believe it is necessary to investigate a possible breach of law, to cooperate in a legal investigation, or to bring legal action against someone who may be violating an agreement with us.
In a business transaction. We reserve the right to transfer information we hold about you in connection with a sale, merger, consolidation, change in control, transfer of assets, reorganization, or liquidation of our business.

If you contact us from a mobile device, your request will be transmitted over your mobile carrier’s network and your carrier may have access to it. Consult your carrier’s privacy policy for more information.

6. Do-Not-Track Requests; Third-Party Tracking

Unless your browser settings are configured to make your online activities invisible to usage analytics tools, we cannot presently omit you from usage analytics where your browser only sends a “do not track” message. Third parties other than our own service providers do not have authorization from us to track which websites you visited before or after visiting the Site. Please note, however, that we cannot control third-party tracking and there may be some third-party tracking that occurs without our knowledge or consent.

We use reasonable precautions, including technical, administrative, and physical procedures, to protect personal information from loss, misuse, or alteration. Although guaranteed security does not exist on the Internet or offline, we make commercially reasonable efforts to handle such information consistent with this Privacy Policy and applicable laws. Due to the design of the Internet and other factors outside our control, we cannot guarantee that communications between you and our servers will be free from unauthorized access by third parties.

You may contact us using the details in Section 14 (Contact Us) if you have questions, or if you wish to update, correct, amend, or delete the personal information you have given us. For individuals located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, please also see Section 9 (Your GDPR and UK GDPR Rights) below. Please note that we may not be able to correct or update personal information previously provided to us by third parties.

Opt-out. If you receive a promotional email from us, you will be given the option to unsubscribe from further email communications at any time. Choosing not to receive promotional material will not prevent us from corresponding with you regarding your existing or past relationship with us.

Cookies. You can set your browser to refuse all or some cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent. If you disable or refuse cookies, some parts of the Site may become inaccessible or may not function properly.

9. Your GDPR and UK GDPR Rights

If you are an individual in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, this section applies to you.

Who is the data controller? C12 Twin Cities is the data controller for personal information collected through this Site. See Section 14 (Contact Us) for our contact details. The C12 Group, LLC is the data controller for information collected through the national C12 services.

What are our legal bases for processing? We rely on our legitimate business interests in providing, managing, protecting, improving, and customizing the Services; on the performance of a contract between you and us where applicable; on your consent for marketing communications; and on compliance with legal obligations to which we are subject. Where we rely on legitimate interests, those include the commercial interests of C12 Twin Cities relating to the improvement and development of our operations and service offerings, and the protection of our business and personnel.

Data retention. We retain your personal information for as long as is necessary for the purposes for which it was collected. The precise period depends on the reason it was collected and on applicable legal and regulatory requirements, including periods relating to the commencement of legal actions.

If we transfer personal information outside the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we will implement appropriate and suitable safeguards to ensure that the data is protected as required by applicable data protection law. Your rights. The following is a summary of the data protection rights available to individuals in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom. These rights may only apply in certain circumstances and are subject to certain exemptions. You can exercise them using the contact details in Section 14.

Right of access — to receive a copy of the personal information we hold about you, subject to certain exemptions.
Right to rectification — to ask us to correct personal information that is incorrect or incomplete.
Right to erasure — to ask that your personal information be deleted in certain circumstances.

The Site contains links to third-party websites that we do not control, including joinc12.com, the C12 App, and the websites of our members and strategic partners. These links are provided as a convenience, and you agree to use them at your own risk. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those websites. This Privacy Policy applies only to information we collect on this Site. If you navigate to a third-party website from the Site, we strongly encourage you to review that website’s own privacy policy. Use of third-party social networking websites is governed by the privacy policies and practices of those websites.

11. Children

The Services are not intended for use by children under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from such individuals. If we learn that we have collected the personal information of any such individual, we will take steps to delete the information as soon as possible.

12. Notice to Residents of Countries Outside the United States

We are located in the United States, and we process personal information in the United States. If you are located outside of the United States, be advised that any information you provide to us will be transferred to and stored in the United States and that, by submitting information to us, you explicitly authorize its transfer and storage within the United States.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to change or replace this Privacy Policy at our sole discretion at any time, and we encourage you to review it periodically. If we make material changes, we will post the updated Privacy Policy on this page. Any changes become effective upon posting. Your continued use of the Services following the posting of changes constitutes your agreement to those changes.
